Westwood Crossing: Helping Hands

Some of our Flaherty & Collins Properties staff gathered this fall and participated in the United Way’s “Days of Caring,” where companies and other groups voluntarily tackle service projects around their community. Whether the service is for a nonprofit agency, school or childcare center, the United Way works together to build a stronger community and make a positive difference!

Our Flaherty & Collins team at Westwood Crossing, led by Property Manager Jean Hamm, cleaned the grout at the Public Library.

“We had a lot of fun and met some very nice people,” Jean said.

Working for United Way 001

The work you do during the days of caring can better a child’s education, help someone meet their basic needs and help create a healthier environment for our community. If interested, some of the volunteer opportunities you can do include:

  • Helping low-income seniors at their homes
  • Training teachers on using the latest technology for their classroom
  • Revitalizing a parent center at a school near you
  • Creating reading areas in schools
  • Reviving an outdoor learning area
