F&C Wins Big at AASI Convention

The Apartment Association of Southern Indiana (AASI) held the 2017 Convention, Trade Show, and Awards Banquet yesterday and Flaherty & Collins Properties was well represented with 30 team members at the event. Shawn Burkhart taught the Customer Service for Maintenance class and Teri Hedemark serves as the President of AASI. Special thanks to Jessica Coursey who did the slide show and music for the awards banquet (and served as Master of Ceremonies!) and Jessica Dillman, who was the photographer.

F&C had 17 nominations for awards this year, including: Janie Springer (Leasing Representative of Year), Mark Dodd, J’Juan Helm, David Robling, Tanner Williams (Maintenance Technician of the Year); Shawn Burkhart, Eddie Flemming, J’Juan Helm (Maintenance Supervisor of the Year); Loren Agada, Thomas Walls – (Rookie of the Year); Cameron Darr (MVP of the Year); Jena Ashlock (Assistant Manager of the Year); Mandy Jackson, Misty Mack, Gayle Rice (Property Manager of the Year); Teri Hedemark (Regional Director of the Year).

Award Winners were:

  • David Robling – Maintenance Technician of the Year
  • Thomas Walls – Rookie of the Year
  • Jessica Coursey – Volunteer of the year
  • Misty Mack – Convention MVP

Congratulations to all nominees and winners last night! Way to go!

And the Award Goes To…

Yeah, the Oscars are, like, so last week.

But they’ve got nothing on Flaherty & Collins Properties, as the awards roll in throughout the year, not just one night. (#humblebrag) So, take that Leo!

This week, the Apartment Association of Southern Indiana (AASI) held it’s annual convention and awards program and our very own Jessica Coursey was named the “MVP” of the entire convention. Jessica is a bit of a “do-it-all”, jack of all trades type of person, and we couldn’t be more proud of her hard work! Her infectious effort must have been passed on to other F&C team members, as Sherry Riker was named the Rookie of the Year by AASI. Sherry is the amazing property manager at the successful new Downtown Terrace property in Petersburg, Indiana. J’Juan Helm was a finalist for Maintenance Technician of the Year as well.

Congratulations to Sherry, Jessica and J’Juan!

Meanwhile, back in Indianapolis, one of F&C’s newest projects, Axis, was scooping up a fairly prestigious honor on it’s own.

Axis was been named the Best Mixed-Use Retail Project by the NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association’s Indiana Chapter. This is the second time Flaherty & Collins Properties has had a project win the award, with Cosmopolitan on the Canal taking home the hardware in 2011.
