Down By The Water’s Edge

Berkley Riverfront Park in Kansas City is getting quite the makeover.

The area, which will be the future home of Flaherty & Collins Properties new development, Union, is undergoing a facelift. Complete with a full plan that includes beach volleyball courts, dog park (Bar K), and more, Berkley Riverfront Park will be home to an area of activity, entertainment and relaxation within the urban landscape of downtown Kansas City.

Berkley Riverfront Park is a sustaining connection between the river and the city.

And this week, the Port KC unveiled new branding and activities to future residents and guests. And our Union team was there to great them as well!

That included our future furry residents, as well:

We can’t wait to finish up construction and greet our residents to further enhance the community. Here’s a reminder of what Union will look like when complete:

2017 IAA Golf Outing

Once again, we can call the IAA Golf Outing a success! There was a great turnout for all of the companies and participants who were out to benefit the Indiana Multifamily Housing Political Action Committee.

Seeing familiar faces around every corner made it all the more fun for our employees who were scattered throughout the course all day long whether they were volunteering or golfing. The weather was perfect, the course was in great shape and everyone was walking around with a smile on their face. It does not get much better than that.

Every team member involved had a great time and we are looking forward to participating in next years IAA Golf Outing already!  You could say it is always a hard day in the office when you spend it at the golf course 😉

Check out some of our pics of  the day:

Thanks again to #IAAGolf2017! See you next year!

Main-Training

This week, Flaherty & Collins Properties held a training and customer service session for our hard-working and dedicated maintenance staff in an effort to stay on the cutting edge of new products and treatment options for the variety of issues that come through our site maintenance staffs inbox.

The highly informative session included updates from Senior Vice President of Management, Jill Herron, and featured guests Mary Carter from Hays + Sons, who discussed remediation strategies for water and mold, Jim Polster from Wilmar, who discussing new programs and offerings, and Brian Early from Sherwin Williams (thanks for providing lunch!), who covered a wealth of product ideas to help onsite teams get the job done.

The day concluded with guest speaker Ron Culberson, who covered the idea of getting the job done, but having fun at the same time! It was a great message to hear for all of us in the room and we thank Ron for the time.

At F&C, we’re committed to providing our team members with additional education and information that help us provide the best customer service to our residents, and the maintenance training was just another example of that commitment to excellence!

Taking in the Cityscape (Flats)

This week, Flaherty & Collins Properties proudly stood with DOMO Development as the property management company for the newly constructed Cityscape Flats in Fort Wayne at the Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening ceremony.

Cityscape Flats, a new 143,000 square foot luxury apartment community by DOMO Development, is located next to Parkview Field on Jefferson Boulevard between Ewing Street and Fairfield Avenue in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Cityscape Flats is a community for those who crave city life, but love the comfort and convenience of a modern development,” said Jill Herron, Senior Vice President of Property & Asset Management. “But the real attraction is the neighborhood, and we’re happy to serve our residents and welcome them home.”

Cityscape Flats features 163 luxury apartment homes comprised by five studios, 118 one bedroom and 40 two bedrooms across nine floor plans in three and four story buildings. Apartments feature spacious designs and tall ceilings, granite kitchen countertops, modern light fixtures and new appliances.

Community features of the $27 million project, which broke ground in November 2016, include a private courtyard, 24-hour exclusive pet wash center, fitness center, amenity club room with a rooftop patio, grilling patio and reflecting aqua bench. Secured underground parking includes a parking space for each apartment.

The event, held Thursday, featured an assortment of treats for attending guests as well:

And even with a rainy day (when has it not been raining this past week?), you can still see how cool the pool is:

“We’re continuing to see unprecedented momentum and growth in our downtown,” said Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry. “Unique housing options position Fort Wayne as an attractive location for residents and businesses. We’re investing in the future to make a meaningful difference in our community. Partnerships like the one with Domo Development are moving us forward in the right direction.”

Take Us Out to the Ballgame!

This week, some of our team members were able to enjoy an afternoon of team building at Victory Field to watch the local Triple-A Indianapolis Indians strut their stuff on the field.

And as you’ll be able to tell from the montage below, there was a lot of fun had by our crew!

Now if the weather would just warm up a little around town…
