F&C, The Breakwater Thank New Albany Fire Department

This week, Flaherty & Collins Properties hosted a Thank You Lunch for the New Albany Fire Department for their hard work and efforts in battling a blaze that effected part of The Breakwater project in February.

“On behalf of our development, construction and management teams, and on behalf of David Flaherty and Jerry Collins, we wanted to express our gratitude for all you the surrounding area fire departments did in helping us through the fire,” said Michael Collins, Regional Property Manager of The Breakwater.

Every New Albany Fire Department crew helped in fighting the fire, and crews from Jeffersonville, Clarksville and Georgetown fire departments responded to assist, making a combined force of approximately 90 firefighters.

“We know the job you have is not an easy one, and we appreciate your service,” said Collins. Lunch was provided by The Exchange in New Albany, and the department was kind enough to provide a tour to the Flaherty & Collins Properties team members at the luncheon, which included executive team members from Construction, Development, Marketing and Property Management.

Tim Bailey, Vice President of the #410 chapter, showed our team members some of the new equipment that help them better fight fires.

The Breakwater’s Property Manager, Darla Cameron, helped arrange the luncheon.

Among the highlights, a projected $30 million economic impact over the next five years and the creation of over 200 new construction jobs, not to mention the roughly 300 new residents that will be brought to downtown New Albany.
