Take Us Out to the Ballgame!

This week, some of our team members were able to enjoy an afternoon of team building at Victory Field to watch the local Triple-A Indianapolis Indians strut their stuff on the field.

And as you’ll be able to tell from the montage below, there was a lot of fun had by our crew!

Now if the weather would just warm up a little around town…

F&C, The Breakwater Thank New Albany Fire Department

This week, Flaherty & Collins Properties hosted a Thank You Lunch for the New Albany Fire Department for their hard work and efforts in battling a blaze that effected part of The Breakwater project in February.

“On behalf of our development, construction and management teams, and on behalf of David Flaherty and Jerry Collins, we wanted to express our gratitude for all you the surrounding area fire departments did in helping us through the fire,” said Michael Collins, Regional Property Manager of The Breakwater.

Every New Albany Fire Department crew helped in fighting the fire, and crews from Jeffersonville, Clarksville and Georgetown fire departments responded to assist, making a combined force of approximately 90 firefighters.

“We know the job you have is not an easy one, and we appreciate your service,” said Collins. Lunch was provided by The Exchange in New Albany, and the department was kind enough to provide a tour to the Flaherty & Collins Properties team members at the luncheon, which included executive team members from Construction, Development, Marketing and Property Management.

Tim Bailey, Vice President of the #410 chapter, showed our team members some of the new equipment that help them better fight fires.

The Breakwater’s Property Manager, Darla Cameron, helped arrange the luncheon.

A Deep Dive into Customer Service

This week, our corporate team hosted over 170 employees from nearly 90 sites that represent nearly 14,000 units in the Flaherty & Collins Properties portfolio to provide a deep dive from special guest presenter Toni Blake (aka Totally Toni).

The nearly full day training honed in on new ideas and motivation surrounding customer service and how to best help our residents – both current and prospective.

“Think of this as Spring Training,” said Jerry Collins, President and Co-Founder of Flaherty & Collins Properties. “Just like the baseball team hitting the basics in Spring Training, we’re here to be reminded of why we’re here.”

Ms. Blake, through comedy, music and video, touched a nerve with the property managers and leasing staff teams in attendance.

“We take great pride in providing additional training and resources for our team members across the sites we own and manage,” said Jill Meals-Herron, Senior Vice President of Management at Flaherty & Collins Properties. “We always want to make sure our No. 1 priority and focus is with our residents and how we can best help them. This training is a chance for all of us to get a new angle, see and hear new ideas and reinvigorate our team.”

And Toni has made special connections, having presented her ideas to specific sites and members of the F&C team before

Following the training, many site employees toured the new Flaherty & Collins Properties corporate office and enjoyed time with corporate team members.

Tour of New Flaherty & Collins Properties Corporate Headquarters? Yes, Please!

In late 2016, we moved from the North side of Indianapolis to right in the heart of Downtown. We wanted a modern, contemporary working space that reflected what we do and who we are. And we want open space for collaboration between our Development, Construction and Property Management teams. And so far, the results have been pretty exciting.

Join us, if you will, on a little photographic walking tour of the new Flaherty & Collins Properties corporate headquarters on the 30th (and portions of the 29th) floor of Regions Tower. We’ll take you from the elevator bank to the breakroom and places in between!
